Evelyn F. Bean, 85, of Springfield, died at 5:25 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. Josephs Home. Evelyn was born May 19, 1932 in Ripley, IL, the daughter of Clifford Loren and Mildred Aliene Hess Vincent. She married James R. Bean on February 16, 1957 at St. Agnes Church in Springfield. Evelyn was employed with the State of Illinois for twenty-five years. She was a member of St. Agnes Church and the Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Florence Logsdon; and two brothers, Harlan and Clifford Vincent, Jr. She is survived by her husband, James Bean of Springfield; son, Jeff (wife, Traci) Bean of Springfield; daughters, Cindy (husband, Steve) McCaslin of Chapin, SC and Carrie (husband, Gary) Smith of Herndon, VA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Darius "Jerry" Seckman of Rushville; and nephew, Larry Logsdon. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at St. Agnes Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at St. Agnes Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
