

He was born in Springfield on April 6, 1929, the son of Adolfo and Margaret (Daniele) Fulgenzi. Ferdinand married Flaviette M. (Santini) Fulgenzi in 1948; they later divorced. Ferdinand later married Pat Meeter; they later divorced.
Ferdinand graduated from St. Aloysius Catholic School and attended Cathedral Boys High School. He went on to be an Illinois State Trooper for 25 years, including assignment at the Governor’s Mansion where he proudly served several governors. After his retirement, he worked as a guard at Marine Bank. Ferdinand was a faithful member of St. Agnes. He loved skeet shooting, hunting, classic vintage cars, and was proud of his Italian heritage. Ferdinand cherished time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sr. Darlene M. Fulgenzi OSU.
Ferdinand is survived by his longtime significant other, Darlene Burtle; daughters, Margaret (Ed) Sauer and Karen (Phil) Brooks; grandchildren, Annie (Chris) Wyler, Jeff (Barbie) Sauer, Drew (Stephanie) Sauer, and Brad (Haley) Sauer; siblings, Donna (Dick) Putting and Jim (Linda) Fulgenzi; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private family services were held.
