Flora M. Peters, 93, of Springfield, died at 1:38 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Sunny Acres. Flora was born January 3, 1921 in Springfield, the daughter of Dominic U. and Flora M. May "Cookey" Cucchi. She married Howard A. Peters on February 13, 1937; he preceded her in death on March 1, 2002. Flora attended Feitshans High School in Springfield. She was a loving housewife and enjoyed reading and crocheting. Her faith was important to her, and she was very involved at Fifth Presbyterian Church in Springfield. She was currently a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Howard A. Peters Jr.; two brothers, Don U. Cookey and Robert Cookey; and two grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Florence C. (husband, Loren) Davidage of Springfield; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery, Salisbury.
