Florence was born on March 19, 1947, in Williamsville, Illinois to Garth Edgar and Pauline Dyer. On November 15, 1974, Florence married Leo Ishmael, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 1, 2009.
Florence graduated from Riverton High School and was previously employed by Springfield Public Schools. She was blessed with 6 beautiful children. She was crazy about her kids and always tried to do the best that she could do for them no matter what. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all she came to know. Her children reciprocated their devotion to their mother as her health declined and they provided great care to her.
Florence was a people person, and she knew how to get along with just about everyone. Her collection of magnets, passion for being a CB operator, and love for her cats, will not be forgotten. She enjoyed making trips to the gaming boats and attending comedy shows at the Funny Bone. She will truly be missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leo, her daughter Mellisa Climico, and her grandson, Robert Ishmael. Florence leaves to cherish her memory, children, Cindy (Don, Jr.) Dippel, Jonnie (Anthony) Arnold, Leonhard (Luana) Ishmael, all of Springfield, IL and Lynette Stanley and Terrie (Shawn) Frye, both of Texas. Seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, eight sisters, four brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. No services have been scheduled at this time. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
