Floyd was born on May 6, 1950 in Springfield, the son of Edward A. and Lorene Phillips. On Aug. 11, 1978 he married Sharon L. Hacker in Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Spradlin.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Sharon L. Phillips of Springfield; a daughter, Noel E. Phillips (fiancé, Stephen Hauer) of Springfield; four grandchildren, Natalie, Stephanie, Johnie, and Stephen; a sister, Sandy (husband, Dave) Giddings; and several nieces and nephews.
He was retired from Lake Area Disposal after 36 years of services. He was an avid bowler for over 45 years, bowling in many leagues. He liked to work in the yard and help out his neighbors and friends.
Cremation rites were accorded. Floyd’s family will meet friends from 1 to 3 PM Saturday, Jan. 30 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. A private burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
