Frederick Arthur Rice, 83, of Springfield, passed away on September 10, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 3, 1942 in Peoria to Clarence Rice and Ellabertha Paris Rice. Frederick married Melody Welch and she survives.
Mr. Rice is also survived by two children: Daniel Rice of New Berlin and Lori (Robert) Whitmore of Alexander, one grandson Zac (Aubrey) Whitmore, one great-granddaughter Paityn Whitmore and one sister Linda Rice of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Lange.
Frederick was a US Army Veteran. He graduated from Bradley University and was a Certified Public Accountant for over fifty years and worked as an accountant for BRANDT for thirty eight years. He was a board member of Pleasant Plains Bank, Springfield plastics and BRANDT.
The family will greet friends from 3:00pm until 6:30pm Tuesday September 16, 2025 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, supportapdaparkinson.org.
