

. Patrick Stevens, 62, of Springfield, died at 8:57 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his home. Pat was born March 29, 1951 in Eldorado, the son of Clarence and Helen Cox Stevens. He married Melinda (Hunter) Paul in 1996 in Troy, IL. Pat was a graduate of Edwardsville High School. He was known as the true "car man", starting his love for them at a very early age. His love for cars continued on throughout his life as he sold auto paint for PPG for many years in Florida and was also an avid Motor Sports fan that had a vast collection of NASCAR memorabilia. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, "Daddy Don" Leach and many other treasured family members. He is survived by his mother, Helen (Lloyd) Crandall of Decatur; his wife, Melinda Stevens of Springfield; one step-son, David (Paula) Paul of Springfield; one step-daughter, Triska (Casey) Wasser of San Diego, CA; step-grandchildren, Kate and Emma Wasser, both of San Diego, CA; siblings, Jeanne Wallace of Springfield, Scott (Donna) Stevens of Springfield, Michael (Jill) Stevens of Seminole, FL, and Brad (Lynn) Stevens of Seminole, FL; one step-sister, Debbie (Dan) Eddington of Shorewood, IL; one step-brother, Don (Katy) Leach of Lusby, Maryland; and his garage cat, Amos Stevens. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
