Gary R. Patterson

Gary R. Patterson, 62, of Springfield, died at 11:56 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at his residence. Gary was born on May 12, 1944 in Martins Ferry, OH, the son of John and Eloise Smith Patterson. He married Marlene Laramee on March 26, 1964 in Springfield. He was a 1962 graduate of Taylorville High School. He was employed for twenty-seven years as a Molding Technician at Eaton Corporation until his retirement in April 2003. He was a member of the International Association of Mechanics Aerospace Workers Union. He coached Little League and baseball teams and loved to golf, fish, and play cards. Gary was a loving, caring and gentle man with a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Marlene Patterson of Springfield; two sons: Gary (wife, Betsy) of Dawson and Mark (wife, Bretta) Patterson of Rochester; four grandchildren: Amy, Kyle, Cassie and Kristen; one brother: Hank (wife, Les) Patterson of White Heath and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Wesley Osborn officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
