

George Charles “Chuck” Daniels, 52, of Springfield, died at 8:01 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2005 at his residence. Chuck was born October 17, 1952 in Springfield the son of Lawrence E. Daniels and Janet L. Smith. He married Debbie Wilson on May 17, 1997 in Springfield. Mr. Daniels was a construction worker by trade but he had also worked in heating and air conditioning and sold insurance. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1971-1974. He was preceded in death by his father and step father. He is survived by his wife: Debbie of Springfield, one son: Christopher Milner of Springfield; one daughter: Heather Milner of Springfield; mother: Janet Smith of Springfield; two sisters: Laura Lyons of New Berlin, Marilyn Beck of Farmersville; five brothers: John (wife, Kathy) Daniels, Robert (wife, Tina), William “Bill” (wife, Deena) and Leon Smith all of Springfield, and Gary Smith of Norfolk, VA and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. An honor guard will be posted by the Sangamon County Sheriff's Department during visitation and a law enforcement walk-thru will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family of George Charles “Chuck” Daniels c/o Warren Boynton State Bank, 702 W. Illinois, New Berlin, IL 62670.
