Glenn E. Stewart

Mr. Stewart was born July 10, 1932 near Hopkins, Mo the son of Glenn M. and Opal F. Clayton Stewart. He married Paula Reaney Oct. 6, 1956 in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering and started with Caterpillar in East Peoria. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958 earning the rank of First Lieutenant. He continued his professional career with Fiat-Allis until his retirement.

He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge and Ansar Temple. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed sailing with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; daughter, Lynda (Bob) Trimpe of Bloomington; son, Paul (Carolyn) Stewart of Carl Junction, MO; daughter, Susan (Jeff) Gaines of Springfield; grandchildren, Megan Trimpe, Sarah Trimpe, Alyssa Trimpe ,Mary Trimpe, Aaron Stewart, Cara Stewart, Dylan Stewart and Reaney Gaines.

Friends may call Thursday Sept. 29, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Memorial services will be held 11:30 AM Friday Sept. 30, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Dr. Lonnie H. Lee officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or to Habitat for Humanity.
