
Grace W. Morris, 87, of Springfield, formerly of St. Louis, MO and Ft. Myers, FL died at 10:42 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at St. John’s Hospital. Grace was born on November 9, 1916 in Alton, IL, daughter of Charles C. and Tomme Myriene Miller Morris. She retired in 1980 after 35 years of service from the State of Illinois, Department of Transportation and the Bureau of Material and Physical Research. Prior to coming to Springfield she was employed in the Credit Division of General Motors Corporation. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower, the Laymen’s Foundation, Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Missionary of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, Third Order of St. Francis, Laymen’s Order Professed Member, Legion of Mary Auxiliary member, St. Theresa Guild, Catholic Daughters of America Madonna Court, Capital Canine Training Club, Eagle Forum where she had received the distinguished award for dedicated services and work for God, Family and Country, and Pro Family Organization. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by many friends and her dog, Ming Joi. Friends may call from 4 – 7 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2004 at Church of the Little Flower with Father Chuck Edwards celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr. Springfield, IL 62703. The friends of Grace W.
