She was born July 28, 1909 in Loami, Illinois, the daughter of Roy and Avis Edwards Franklin. On October 5, 1940 she married Alvin Randles. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2005.
Mrs. Randles was an alumnus of Illinois State University. She held teaching positions in Loami, Pawnee, Edinburg, and Chatham. She moved from the Rochester area to Springfield in 1972. She was a member of the New City Methodist Church.
She is survived by one brother, Marvin Franklin of Gulfport, Mississippi; two sisters, Luvena Knepler of New Berlin, and Margaret Erlandson of Las Vegas, Nevada; a stepdaughter, Constance Wilhelm of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where friends may call Tuesday, January 16, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 17, at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Rev. Jim Poole will officiate. Interment will be at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Loami.
