

Hank was born October 18, 1922 in New Berlin, the son of Henry L. and Edna Vandree Meyer. He married Gloria Ann Caruso.
Hank proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII as a medic, serving in the Philippines. He was a part of the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight on August 26, 2014. Hank loved NASCAR and worked as a painter for 70 years. He was a member of the Local #90 Painters Union and Elks Club, and for many years danced with his wife Gloria in a local Polka club.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents; wife Gloria; siblings, Harold, Mildred, Marcella, Luella, Hubert, Donald, and Howard.
He is survived by his siblings, John Meyer of Oregon, Mary Taylor of California, Shirley Hubbard of Petersburg, IL, Gene Meyer of Greenview, IL, and Denny Meyer of Petersburg, Il; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Timmy.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Ave. West, Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
