Herman Stanley Lefavor, 71, of Springfield, died at 12:19 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center ER. Herman was born April 7, 1932 in Springfield, the son of Oscar and Elizabeth Lefavor. He married Catherine Virginia Metzger December 30, 1955 in Springfield. Mr. Lefavor, a graduate of Springfield High School, worked as a janitor for numerous business and had previously been employed by John W. Hobbs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by his wife: Catherine Virginia of Springfield; one son: Jep Lefavor of Springfield; two brothers: Gordon (wife, Mary Catherine) Lefavor of Springfield, Herbert (wife, Kathryn) Partain of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Remains were cremated. No memorial services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the choice of the donor. The family of Herman Stanley Lefavor is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
