Irene M. McLaughlin

Irene M. McLaughlin, 96, of Conroe, TX, formerly of Springfield, died on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at her home. Irene was born December 20, 1918 in Carlinville, the daughter of Richard and Vida Smith Graham. She married Joseph John McLaughlin in Springfield; he preceded her in death on December 7, 1978. Irene graduated from Carlinville High School. She was employed in the Administrative Office at Lincoln Land Community College. She enjoyed spending time with her children, cooking, crocheting, and knitting. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by three sons, Joseph D. (Mary) McLaughlin of Houston, TX, Michael M. (Linda) McLaughlin of Orlando, FL, and Thomas M. (Lily) McLaughlin of Navasota, TX; three daughters, Irene C. Cullers of Conroe, TX, Mary E. (Stephen) Smith of Cypress, TX, and Theresa A. (Ron Haney) Miller of Benton; 8 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence, Springfield with Rev.
