She was born on Nov. 3, 1930 in Canton, IL, to Harley and Grace (Bandle) Woods. She married Dwight “Max” Wilmot on Sept. 12, 1952 in Lewiston, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, her son Steven Wilmot; 2 sisters, Frances Painter and Phyllis Ulm; and her brother Richard Woods.
Jackie is survived by her children Timothy Wilmot of Billings, Mt, and Gary (Mandy) Wilmot of Springfield; daughter-in-law Sandra Wilmot of Springfield; grandchildren, Amy Sticka, Brent Wilmot, Jill (Eric Nelson) Wilmot, Jamie (Nick) Merritt, and Jacob Wilmot; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Sticka, Corinne Daugherty, Owen Merritt and Harper Merritt; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jackie retired from SIU School of Medicine. She worked at the carousel at White Oaks Mall and was manager of the carousel for several years, retiring in July 2009. She was a member of West Side Christian Church, the TNT Class at West Side, and was very active in the choir. She loved to sing at West Side, other churches in the area, and in her hometown of Lewistown. She was a former member of The Singing Belles and The Golden Tones.
Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, where memorial visitation will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 10 am until time of the memorial service at 11:30 am. Cremation rites were accorded. A private inurnment will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
