Jim was born on November 8, 1962, in Springfield, to Thomas and Barbara (Patsche) Schuh.
He graduated from Lanphier High School in 1981 and from Western Illinois University in 1986. Jim was a Public Service Administrator and had many titles over the past 35-plus years with the State of Illinois. He loved to read, paint, listen to music, and play the guitar. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4175 North Council in Springfield, where he enjoyed gathering with friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas A. Schuh.
He is survived by his son, Samuel J. Schuh; parents, Thomas and Barbara Schuh; sister, Nancy (Paul) Hamende; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, followed by a Ceremony at 11:00 a.m., with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
