Janet was born in Springfield on September 5, 1950, the daughter of Dom and Loreatta Morton Mauro. She married David McClellan Brady on October 2, 2004 in Springfield.
For many years, Janet worked for the Illinois State Museum Society and gift shop, where she worked with Illinois artisans. As a receptionist, she served as the museum ambassador where she worked with thousands of people. Janet loved children, and she spent 16 years of her life as a teacher’s aid at Fairview Elementary School.
