He was born on March 21, 1961, in Decatur, IL, the son of Jerry D. and Janice (Bolsen) Tusing. Jay married Dawn Rigdon on October 8, 1994, in Branson, MO.
Jay went to high school in Lovington and graduated from Milikin. He went on to work as a business analyst with State Farm for over 15 years. Jay enjoyed trap shooting and loved his dogs. He was known for his strong faith and outgoing personality.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jay is survived by his wife, Dawn Tusing of Sherman; and son, Jared Tusing of Sherman.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to services.
Memorial Ceremony and Gathering: Ceremony will begin at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, with Rev. Ken Gennicks officiating. A Gathering will follow from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
