Jeffery L. Baggerly

Jeff was born March 4, 1956 at Fort Knox, KY, the son of Jack and Donna (Eldridge) Baggerly. He married Carol Ann Lowery, May 5th, 1979 in Auburn, IL.

Jeff honorably served in the United States Army, in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper and a military policeman. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Union and retired from Monterey Coal Co. in 1987. He was a graduate of Auburn High School, and went on to earn an associate’s degree in Coal Mining Technology. He later graduated from Sangamon State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Labor Relations. He was a member of the Gate Christian Ministries in Glenarm, IL.

Surviving are his wife, Carol, his father, Jack (wife Liz Copeland) Baggerly of Albuquerque, N.M., his mother, Donna Garst of Auburn, IL, three brothers: Ron (Sharon) Harris of Springfield, Robin (Jody) Baggerly of Glenarm, IL, and Larry (Kim) Baggerly of Springfield, his mother-in-law, Helen Lowery of Springfield, two sister’s-in-law: Linda (David) Lindsay of Dewey, IL and Millie (Harold) Gilpin of Cuba, IL, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, Several great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his caregivers, Bonnie Reese-White and Lueceafes Reese.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Lee Lowery.

Cremation rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory.

Memorial Gathering and Service: The family will greet friends from 10:00 am Thursday until the time of a memorial service at 11:00 am at The Gate Christian Ministry 10213 Palm Road, Glenarm, IL Pastor Steven Miller will officiate.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Gate Ministry or the American Heart Association.
