In loving memory of Jennifer Lynn Leonard–Frescura, it is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennifer Lynn Frescura of Jerome, IL, who departed this world at 5:03 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was 51 years old.
Jennifer was born on February 14th, 1972, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Patrick W. Leonard and Theresa Simpson. She married Thomas Frescura on January 15, 2011, in Las Vegas, NV.
Jennifer was a beloved daughter, spouse, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She faced life with courage, grace, and joy, and left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Jennifer was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois-Springfield, and went on to work at the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services as an All-Kids Kid Care Supervisor for more than two and a half decades.
Beyond her professional life, Jennifer had a deep love for music, always finding solace and joy in its melodies. She was someone who constantly looked at the bright side and encouraged others to do the same, spreading positivity wherever she went. Jennifer was known for her goofy sense of humor, kindness, and generosity. She had a love for animals, sandy beaches, and the smell of ocean air. Her passion for cooking and gardening brought joy to her life and those around her. Jennifer was also known for being outspoken, encouraging others to see the world through her honest and vibrant perspective.
Jennifer Lynn Leonard-Frescura was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Frescura; daughters, Kate Anne Lyons (partner Dustin Foley), Emma Nikole Lyons, Victoria Jane Frescura, and Desiree Turnbull (fiancé Matt Goldstein); brothers, Patrick T. Leonard (wife, Debbie Bogle–Leonard), Kurt Leonard (wife, Misty Leonard); nieces, Madelyn Leonard, Elizabeth Leonard, Abigail Leonard, and Jasmine Leonard; grandchildren, Tristen, Willow, and Walker; and several cousins who will cherish the memories of her love, affection, and companionship. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A private family ceremony will be held at Butler Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
