She was born on May 9, 1950, in Shelby, NC, the daughter of Millard A. and Lelia P. (Sigmon) Prince. Her family then moved to Hollywood, FL, where she was raised. Jennifer met her husband, David Kepner, in November of 1979, and they married on June 25, 1980, in Springfield, IL. David feels that being able to live with Jennifer for the past 45-plus years was the single greatest privilege and honor of his life.
Jennifer attended UIS and received her BA and MA degrees. She worked for the State of IL Bureau of Early Intervention until retirement. Jennifer was a charter member since 1986 of Central Illinois Blues Club. She enjoyed gardening, hiking, genealogy, learning, and researching a multitude of subjects.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Millard G. Prince.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, David Kepner of Springfield; daughters, Jody (Kirk) Morcus of Sebastian, FL and Marti McAtee of Springfield; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Vickie Sandbergh Crystal River, FL and Lelia Wright of Dunellon, FL.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to services.
The family will host a private burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
