John L. Ansell

John was born March 18, 1972, in Springfield, IL, the son of Oscar Sr. and Judith Dunham Ansell. He married Mei Huey Su on January 2, 2003, in Torrance, CA.

John graduated from Sacred Heart-Griffin in 1990 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Dominican University. He was employed with Laclede Inc. in Torrance, CA. John loved following politics, watching the Chicago Cubs, and writing poetry.

He is survived by his wife, Mei Ansell of Torrance, CA; mother, Judy Ansell of Springfield; siblings, Oscar Ansell, Jr. of Springfield, Thomas (Elizabeth) Ansell of Springfield, and Peter (Jennifer) Ansell of Chicago, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence, Springfield, IL. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Lesupati, celebrant.
