

Jack was born on December 24, 1933, in St. Louis, MO, the son of John Charles and Alberta Qualls Sexton. He married Patricia L. Maier on September 22, 1956, in St. Louis.
Jack graduated from Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis and attended Washington University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and worked as a salesman until his retirement. Jack was an officer in the Sertoma Club of Springfield and was active in youth soccer at the YMCA. He enjoyed drawing, listening to music, watching old movies, and reading educational magazines.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Sexton; and sister, Ann Sparrow.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Springfield; children, Mary Beth Sexton of Springfield, Anne Marie (David) Lawler of Auburn, Matthew (Jeannie) Sexton of Overland Park, KS, and John (Laura) Sexton of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia “Tish” Graves of Lake St. Louis, MO.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Very Rev. Christopher House officiating.
A private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
