

Ed was born on July 2, 1940, in Chatham, IL, the son of John W. and Ona Gibson Chorn. He married Janice Ellen Chorn on January 18, 1974, in Springfield; she preceded him in death on January 31, 2022.
Ed was a graduate of Glenwood High School. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1992, after 32 years of service. Ed also served as a union representative for the Postal Service. Following his retirement, he worked for Igor from 1993 until 2003. Ed then drove the Springfield Clinic shuttle transporting patients to their appointments and delivered cars for a local car dealership. He was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan. Ed enjoyed hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, and going on road trips.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son, Bill Chorn of Woodstock, GA; two daughters, Jennifer (Jason Lau) Chorn of Virden and Allison (Chad) Bettis of Springfield; four grandchildren, Nathan and Chad Bettis, Brittany (Dustin) Pratt, and Zack Chorn; two great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Matthew Pratt; one sister, Diann Tinsley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Ceremony and Visitation: Funeral ceremony will be 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Family will receive friends following the ceremony until 7:00 p.m.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
Burial will be held at a later date.
