He was born in Springfield on May 14, 1977, the son of John Lapiccola and Janis Crabb.
John loved his family and friends and cherished them more than anything. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, fishing, Rodney Dangerfield movies, and refurbishing electronics – he once transformed an old umbrella into a receiver that picked up Chinese radio stations.
An avid gardener, he was renowned for his amazing hot peppers. He was also a CB radio enthusiast and had fun connecting with others in the community.
Most of all, John cherished hanging out with his friends. John was always willing to lend a helping hand and loved making people laugh. He was truly larger than life, and will be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, John; and grandparents.
John is survived by his mother, Janis Crabb of Springfield; siblings, Lisa Lapiccola of Springfield, Tressa Putnam of Springfield, Vito Lapiccola of Los Angeles, CA, and Angela (Shawn) Ley of Springfield; nieces, Emelia (Ben) Foster, Caitlin (Andre) Williams, Morgan Fargusson, and Taylor (Jake) House, all of Springfield; and several great-nieces and great-nephews, all of Springfield.
