He was born on May 11, 1952, in Carrollton, IL, the son of the late John R. and June (Herron) Wyatt.
John served in the U.S. Army. He had a 41-year career as a truck driver, driving for numerous area trucking companies, including, most recently, Flagg Trucking in Riverton, IL. John was a member of the NRA and loved hunting, fishing, and online shopping.
He is survived by three children, John R. (wife Lucinda) Wyatt III of Mt. Zion, IL, Christopher Wyatt of Springfield, and Lynnette Stewart of Decatur, IL; 8 grandchildren, Tristan Wyatt, Natalie Wyatt, Lauren Wyatt, Thomas Wyatt, Kayla Slater, Amber Ausmus, Kayce Stewart, and Ella Stewart; 9 great-grandchildren; and one brother Alan Wyatt of Mechanicsburg, IL.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Todd Alan Wyatt; a sister, Deana Manning; and a brother, Mark Wyatt.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield. Graveside military honors will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Noon at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The U.S. Army and the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will provide military honors.
