Johnny "Jake" Jacobs

Jake was born January 15, 1969, in Springfield, IL, the son of Kenneth Harwood and Mary E. (Ketchum) Jacobs.

Jake was caring, hard-working, kind-hearted, generous, and loving. He was always placing other’s needs ahead of his own. Jake was a lifelong resident of Springfield and he attended Springfield High School. He was employed as a carpenter over the years with several local companies including, Bill Polk Construction, Faron Harmony Construction, and Landers Construction and Remodeling. When he wasn’t working, Jake enjoyed reading the Bible, playing with his grandson, Zaiden John, and taking care of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Jacobs; daughter, Amber A. Jacobs; and brother-in-law, Benny Harmony.

Jake is survived by his daughter, Allison Jacobs; wife, Amy; stepson, Wesley; grandson, Zaiden John; mother, Mary Jacobs; sisters, Kimberly Jacobs-Harmony and Tanya Jacobs; nieces, Jessica Harmony and Jordyn Rubin; nephew, Jonathan Brasche, all of Springfield; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Private family ceremonies will be held with inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a memorial fund for Jake’s grandson, Zaiden John – Grandpa’s Memorial Fund, c/o any Town and Country Bank location.
