

He was born in Chicago, April 12, 1955 the son of Juan and Virginia Adkins Martinez. His parents preceded him in death.
Louie was more than an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bear fan. He was self employed as a professional in the Auto Recovery business in the Chicago area. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are his children; Joseph "Joe" (fiancée' Jamie Handy) of Sherman, Gina M. (fiancée' Bob Sidener) Martinez of Springfield, Theresa (husband Bobby) Womack of Sherman, and John P. Martinez of Springfield. There are 11 grandchildren, 3 brothers; John Martinez of Springfield, Frankie (wife Donna) Martinez of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Michael (wife Bobbi) Martinez of Pembrook Pines, FL., a sister; Juanita (husband Steve) Lawrence of New Port News, VA. and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen with a prayer service at 4:00 pm Monday January 3, 2010 with visitation following til 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2010 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Fr. Gerald Zienaa will officiate. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
