Joyce Mann Doss

Joyce Mann Doss, born June 12, 1942 to Stella M. and Bernard L. Mann of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 after a long, courageous battle with cancer, with her children and family by her side.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Sara L. Gallant; and her husbands, Jerry Gallant and Robert Power.

Joyce was employed with the Secretary of State until her retirement. She was a member of the Eagles Club and loved to dance and spend time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Greg Gallant (Patty) of Lancaster, CA, Cindy Gallant (Brad) of Loami, Janet Ushman (Robert), Sean Gallant, Clint Power (Bobbie), and Casey Power (Vernon), all of Springfield; siblings, John Mann of Edinburg, Tom Mann (Mary-Ann) of Springfield, Sherron Russell (William) of Sherman, and Judy Shepard of Springfield; two aunts; one uncle, Donald (Joette) Curtis; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins; several great-nieces and nephews; and companion, John Mentz of Taylorville.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield.

Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant.

Burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery following the ceremony.
