

Judith was born on September 24, 1944 in Pittsfield, the daughter of James and Opal (Burnett) Wilson. She married Floyd R. Shade on September 30, 1961. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Patricia Strong and Linda Traughber.
Judith had a love for reading, drawing, painting, antiques, the art of interior decorating, and a true passion for people. Judith and her husband owned and operated Shades Bi-Rite in Rushville and later owned C and B Furniture. She retired from Barney’s Furniture, after many years of service.
She is survived by her son, Bret Shade of Farmersville; one daughter, Cynthia (husband, Dr. Scott) Brown of West Hartford, CT; five grandchildren, Jared Brown of Baton Rouge, LA, Adam (wife, Tasha) Shade of Springfield, Jacob (wife, Mary) Shade of Cheyenne, WY, Brianna Shade of Auburn, and Nicole Brown of Brooklyn, NY; one great-grandchild, Sienna Shade of Springfield; one brother, James (wife, Marge) Wilson of Columbia, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Butler Funeral Home—Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.
A private family funeral will be held. Judith will then be laid to rest next to her husband at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family wishes to provide a heartfelt thank you to all the physicians and nurses who provided exceptional care for Judith over the years, especially Dr. Patel, Dr. A. Garg, Dr. P. Garg, Dr. Crabtree, and her caregiver, Kaila Lewis.
