Judith Pedersen Thomas

Judith was born on March 17, 1924 in Denmark, the daughter of Arne and Karen Pedersen.

Judith was a graduate of Lake Forest High School. She was a classy, sweet lady who enjoyed being with friends and family. She spent her free time gardening, bowling, drawing, and playing tennis and the piano. Before raising her family, Judith was employed as a commercial artist for Abbott Labs. She was also a long-time member of Island Bay Yacht Club.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Jeffrey Thomas; her parents; and one brother, Viggo Pedersen.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Payne (wife, Brigid) Thomas of Springfield and Peter Charles Thomas of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren, Paul Edward, Daniel Carl, Payne Elizabeth, and Breck Marie Thomas; and a step-son, John Fuller (wife, Susan) Thomas of Cleveland, TN.

Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield with Rev. Dr. Gregory A. Tournoux officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
