Katherine L. Mundy

Katherine L. Mundy, 86, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in Arizona. She was born on July 21, 1926 in Rockport, IN, the daughter of Milburn and Josephine (Ice) Bunch. She married Jim Mundy in 1943, they shared over 50 years of marriage together until he preceded her in death. Katherine was part owner of Don & Kathy’s Corner Tavern in Ashland for over 20 years. She was an avid Cardinal’s fan and really enjoyed her later years in Arizona with her late companion, George Roth. Katherine is survived by her children; Sandra Johnson of Chesterton, IN, Mike (Catherine Marlowe) Mundy of St. Louis, MO, Lisa (Steve Rapoport) Armstrong of Edinburg, IL, her grandchildren; Tami Perrino, Tracy Wilson, Joshua Nelson, Angie Mundy, James Armstrong, Jakoby Armstrong, Chasity Armstrong, Cassandra Rapoport, 3 great-grandchildren; Mercedes, Addison, and Alexandra Jo, her siblings; Ira Lee Bunch, and Mary Jo Harris, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also preceding her in death are her parents. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 12 noon at Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 E Allen St Springfield IL 62703.
