

Kay was born on March 17, 1950 to Gerald Woodward and Dolores (Watts) Woodward in St. Louis, Mo. She graduated from Incarnate Word Academy and continued her education at Southern IL University at Edwardsville where she earned her Major in English and Minor in French. While attending SIUE, Kay also met the love of her life, Ron Hasara, and they married on September 30, 1972.
She was employed by Charles Thomas Publishing for a time before opening up The Baby's Nest. She also substitute taught throughout her lifetime but her favorite "employment" was a stay at home mom. Her two children were the lights of her life and she enjoyed every crazy minute of raising them. She was a member of the Federated Junior Women's Club as well as a member of a bridge club. Family and friends have always said she was a true class act, a consistent of what you see is what you get. She loved with her whole being and you always knew how much you were loved. She would toast her family and friends with "May you enjoy good friends, a loving family, blue skies and two scoops of your favorite ice cream."
She is survived by her husband Ron Hasara of Springfield; Son, Rhett Hasara of Springfield; daughter, Leeanne Hasara of Rochester; honorary daughter, Anndrea Cooke of Springfield; Granddaughter, Audrey Hasara of Rochester; Brother, Jim Woodward (Rose) of St. Louis; Sister, Marylee Behlman (Jeff) of Lake Saint Louis ; Jill Zeiger (Todd) of Wadsworth, OH; sister-in-law Diane Woodward of Wentzville; sister-in-law Mary Lou Ryan (Bill) of Peoria; sister-in-law Betty Hasara of Spfld; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas Woodward; and brother, Jerry Woodward.
Cremation rites were accorded. The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
