Keith D. Owens

Keith was born in Chicago, IL, June 20, 1956, the son of Charles E. and Virginia M. (Hargis) Owens. Keith is a graduate of Lanphier High School and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp.

Keith worked as an automotive parts specialist with General Auto Supply in Springfield for many years. After they closed, Keith became a security guard for the Crowne Plaza until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his sisters; Deborah Owens, Marjorie Owens, Catherine Owens and Vivian Smith, all of Springfield, his brother, Kenneth Owens of Taylorville, IL his nieces; Mercedes (Larry) Caponigro of Springfield, Jode Owens and Amy Lawrence both of Taylorville, IL, a great nephew and several cousins.

Cremation Rites will be accorded. A graveside service with military honor’s provided by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may direct memorial contributions to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
