Kenny was born March 1, 1933, in Salem, IL, the son of Cecil and Dorothy Decker. He married Linda Cotter on June 6, 1991, in Osage, MO.
He was a retired United States Marine Corps Veteran. He also retired as a Master Sergeant with the Illinois State Police and loved playing the steel guitar with all of his musician friends. Most of all, he loved his wife, kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jerry.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Linda Decker; daughter, Tami Brown of Louisville, KY; son, Teddy (Sue/Alyssa) Decker of Springfield; grandchildren, Jessica Dennis and Joshua Decker, both of Springfield, and Glenn Wesley Brown and Amanda Cornelius, both of Louisville; great-grandchildren, Riley Brown, Nolan Brown, Logan Cornelius, Kinsley Cornelius, and Elise Dennis; and brother, Don (Marge) Decker of Odin, IL.
Memorial Gathering: The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield, IL.
Private family burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
