

Lance Corporal Kevin James Dallavis, 22 of Fort Worth, TX, died at 5:14 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at his residence. Kevin was born January 5, 1990 in Chicago, the son of James Dallavis and Lorraine "Rainie" Iocca. He married Ashley Johnson on July 26, 2011 in Fort Worth. Kevin was a graduate of Sacred Heart Griffin, where he played football and won two State Championships. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps straight out of high school and earned his Associate's Degree at the Defense Language Institute through the Marines. While in the Marines, he was a C130 Mechanic. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament and was an altar boy and Eucharist minister throughout high school. Kevin was very involved with Toys for Tots, as well as his church. He was known for his "Kevinisms" and enjoyed working out, playing video games, playing the piano, and loved Hip Hop, classical, and R & B. He was preceded in death by his godfather, Vince Giannone; cousin, Shane Ray; grandparents, Mario and Rosemary Iocca; and grandfather, Albert A. Dallavis. He is survived by his wife, Ashley Johnson-Dallavis of Fort Worth, TX; parents, James Dallavis and Lorraine Iocca, both of Springfield; siblings, Carmen (Rob) Ward of N. Providence, RI, Colleen (Jon) Ikerionwu, Holly Dallavis, and Joseph Dallavis, all of Springfield; mother and father-in-law, Craig and Jennifer Johnson; brothers-in-law, Jim Johnson, Craig Johnson Jr., and Andy Johnson, all of Springfield; and nephews, Zyon, Kieran, Ian, and Jakobi. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield with principal celebrant, Rev. John C. Burnette. Burial will follow with full military honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
