

Kevin Flynn, 84, of Springfield, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at his home. Kevin was born on October 11, 1933, in Detroit, MI. Kevin earned a BA in Marketing and Communications from the University of Illinois after transferring there from Bradley University. He worked for Carlson Companies in Minneapolis, MN for many years. He was a "jack of all trades" and worked in various career fields, including at Lincoln National Insurance where he sold $1 million in life insurance in one month. Kevin also enjoyed collecting chess sets and wooden model airplane sets. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Flynn; and mini-dachshund, Madeline. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Flynn of Springfield; brother, Ron Flynn of Taylorville; and sister, Karen (Fred) Giovagnoli of Rochester, NY. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Graveside Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery, with Rev. Nicole Cox officiating and military honors provided by the Department of Defense and American Legion Post #447.
