L. Mildred "Millie" Langenfeld

Millie was born on July 5, 1925, in Kinmundy, IL, the daughter of Orie and Minnie (Garrett) Atkins.

Millie was a devoted member of Christ the King Church. She generously volunteered at St. John's Hospital and was an active participant in the St. John’s Widows Support Group. A dedicated homemaker, Millie found great joy in spending time with her family, attending church, and baking all kinds of treats. She enjoyed traveling in her later years. She took 24 trips and her favorite was to Switzerland.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Orie and Minnie; husband, Fred Langenfeld; son, Carl Langenfeld; and sister, Leta (John) Mazanek.

She is survived by her son, Curt (Beverly) Langenfeld; daughters, Linda Mallow, Kathy Conner, Gail Buoy, and Karen (Norb) Kulig; nine grandchildren, Kevin (Molly) Conner, Lauren (Abraham) Castillo, Carl (Abby) Buoy, Christopher Kalop, Andrew (Shaunna) Mallow, Megan (Sam) Larson, Jeff (Amber) Buoy, Colin (Amanda) Langenfeld, and Kyle (Brooke) Langenfeld; eleven great-grandchildren; and sister, Loretta (Butch) McCullough.

A Graveside Service will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Calvary Cemetery, 1300 Gragg Street, Centralia, IL 62801.
