Larry Gene Shafer, 76, of Springfield, passed away on March 30, 2022 at his residence. He was born on September 20, 1945 in Greenfield, Illinois to Ralph Shafer and Helen Piper. Larry Married Beverly Branson on June 4, 1966 in Springfield and she survives.
Mr. Shafer is also survived by two sons: Larry Michael Shafer and Raymond Joseph Shafer both of Springfield, three sisters: Nada King of Woodson, Illinois, Linda Settles of Jacksonville, Illinois and Debbie Willhousing of Greenfield, Illinois, three brothers: Darrel Shafer of Missouri, Richard Shafer of Greenfield and David Shafer of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Ronald “RL” Shafer and Frank Shafer.
Larry worked as a Union Laborer and he was a member of Local 477 Union Hall.
Cremation rites were accorded.
