

He was born on December 23, 1948, in Springfield, IL, the son of Charles E. and Alice J. (Creviston) Dodge.
Mike is survived by his children, Michael Joshua (Annie) Dodge of Colorado and Sarah (Jason) Hays of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Myrah Dodge, Quincy, and Ryder; two brothers, Charles O. (Donna) Dodge of Girard and Edward J. (Peggy) Dodge of Rosemead, CA; three sisters, Margaret Blakley of Springfield, Patricia (Jay) Dodd of Loami, and Nancy (Tom) Crouch of Loami; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict, from 1968-1969. Mike went on to work as a carpenter, doing remodeling, woodworking, and home repairs for many, many years.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Ellen Daniels; and brothers, David H. and John W. Dodge.
He enjoyed sports, traveling, hunting, fishing, all outdoor activities, being at family gatherings, enjoying family and friends, and sharing stories and good memories. Mike will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, followed by the Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1720 S. Grand Ave. E., Springfield, with Fr. Jim Isaacson, celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided.
