
Lloyd Webb Jr., 78, of Springfield, died at 1:07 p.m. Tuesday December 26th, 2000 at Villa Healthcare Center East in Sherman. He was born July 2nd, 1922 in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Lloyd & Ruth Snyder Webb. He married Helen L. Buckley, and she preceded him in death October 31st, 1991. He was also preceded in death by his Parents and his sister- Viola Grimes. Mr. Webb had been a Dental Technician with Dental Service Laboratory before retiring. He had been a Boy Scout Leader with the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Sangamon Valley Wood Carvers Association, Springfield Bonsai Society, L.O.E.S.S. Rock & Gem Society, Springfield Art Association, Springfield Area Arts Council, and was a former longtime member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. Surviving are two sons- William ''Bill'' (Wife-Shirley) Webb of Auburn, Illinois and David ''Dave'' (Wife-Ginger) Webb of Springfield; two daughters- Martha (Husband- Timothy) Havey of Springfield and Michelle (Husband- Antoine) Laatch of Syracuse, New York; 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday December 29th, 2000 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the Rev. John Ossola celebrant. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
