

Lola Irene Stewart, 77, of Springfield, died at 4:10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at St. John’s Hospice. Lola was born on September 29, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of Celsus Edward and Esther Evelyn Hood Dorworth. She married Clyde R. “Dell” Stewart on August 12, 1948 at Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield. Lola was a 1947 graduate of Lanphier High School. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She retired from Springfield School District in 1992 after twenty- eight years of service. She had also been employed by Springfield Shoe Factory and Pillsbury Mills. She was a sweet mother who loved her family. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Chad DeGraff in 1974, her parents and one sister: Beverly Dorworth. She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Clyde R. “Dell” Stewart of Springfield, one son: Terry A. (wife, Betty Jean) Stewart of Springfield, one daughter: Deborah (husband, James) DeGraff of Springfield, four grandchildren: James and Kristen Stewart and Scott and Matthew DeGraff, two great granddaughters, one sister: Doris Parson of Sandwich; one brother: Edward C. (wife, Phyllis) Dorworth of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral with Rev. Brent Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family of Lola Irene Stewart is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
