Lorraine "Lorry" Reeve

Lorraine "Lorry" Reeve, 82, of Springfield, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at her residence. Lorraine was born June 20, 1931 in Harvey, IL, daughter of Norman E. and Alice Ziese Kantzler. She married Bryce B. Reeve on October 28, 1952 in Flossmoor, IL; he preceded her in death. Lorraine was a graduate of Thornton High School and went on to attend Griegs Business School, earning an associate's degree. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was an avid bridge player and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and playing the piano. She is survived by her children, Debra (husband, Richard A.) Jackson of Springfield and Douglas (wife, Yongcha) Reeve of Champaign; two grandchildren, Kristopher and Trenton Reeve; two siblings, Joyce Longnecker of Springfield and Carol (husband, Elwood) Godman of Hayword, WI; and four nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following the visitation. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Bob Swickard officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
