

Lucinda L. Alexander, 72, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at St. John's Hospital. Lucinda was born February 3, 1941 in Peoria, the daughter of Samuel and Louise Pence Tolan. She married Stewart O. Alexander on February 14, 1969 in Peoria; he preceded her in death in 2005. Lucinda had previously worked for Rutledge Nursing Home and was a member of the American Legion. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting blankets, and playing bingo. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ronnie, parents and step-mother, Shirley Tolan. She is survived by her two sons, Stewart (Susan) Alexander and Ronald (Desirae) Alexander, both of Springfield; daughter, Mary (Shane) LaRocca of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Chelsea Sneed, Jessica Grafton, Chastity Alexander, Ryan Alexander, Tristan Alexander, Anthony LaRocca, Chance Alexander, John Alexander, Lincoln Alexander, and one on the way, Abagail Alexander; five great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Behymer of FL; companion, Herman Behl of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
