

Lynn was born on November 25, 1935, in Barron, WI, the son of Elvin and Freda Fredrickson Swan. He married Adeline Voelker on August 25, 1962 at First Lutheran in Rice Lake, WI.
Lynn served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1956. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, earning a bachelor’s degree in math and chemistry. Lynn worked as a Supervisory Investigator in Consumer Safety for FDA for 29 years. He then worked for the Ball Chatham School District as a custodian for 6 years. Lynn was active with St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chatham as a trustee, usher, and money counter. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, reading, fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Ryan; and brothers, Donald and Allen Swan.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline Swan of Chatham; two sons, Stuart (wife, Heather) Swan of Euless, TX and Forrest (wife, Glenda) Swan of Hahira, GA; two daughters, Christie Swan of Hurst, TX and Laurie Swan of Clermont, FL; six grandchildren, Maia, Morgan, Nicholas, Isaac, Jacob and Hannah; and three siblings, Lee Swan of Rice Lake, WI, Kay (husband, Michael) Bliss of Riverside, CA, and Patricia (husband, Arvin) Wilson of Hemet, CA.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran, 1225 North Main St., Chatham. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Wendorf officiating.
Private family burial will be held at a later date at the Northern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
