Marcia Lynn Ryan

Marcia Lynn Ryan, 70, of Springfield, passed away at 9:33 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at her home. Marcia was born on March 15, 1948 in Springfield, the daughter of Raymond and Bonnie Hinsey Crowley. She married Thomas Edward Ryan on October 15, 1967 in Springfield, IL. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1999. Marcia graduated from Ursuline Academy. She worked for Ace Hardware, Cookie Factory, and later went on to operate her own housekeeping service. She was a member of The Bunco Club and Christ the King Church. Marcia loved holidays, especially Halloween, and would decorate for every holiday. She loved being at the beach, shopping with her sister, gardening, and spending time with family. She was also preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Harry Meyers; brother, John Crowley; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Sharp and Brian Wood. Marcia is survived by her sons, Thomas "Butch" (Angela) Ryan of Springfield, Mark (Joelle) Ryan of Rochester, Mathew (Amanda) Ryan of Springfield, MO, and Jeff (fiance, Loretta Chidster) Ryan of Springfield; grandchildren, Amanda (Brent) Kinsella, Cori, Collin, Caitlyn, Ceelyn, Curklin, and Camrin Ryan, Gavin Goins, Kenley, Cooper, and Easton Ryan; great-grandchildren, Laken, Rylee, Jaelyn, Addison, Paisley, Wyatt, and Wesley; siblings, Janice Sharp, Linda Wood, and Steve Crowley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Christ the King Church, 1930 Barberry, Springfield. Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Christ the King Church with Rev. Joseph Ring, celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
