

Marjorie J. Paulek, 89, of Springfield, died at 6:42 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2010 at St. John’s Hospice. Marjorie was born June 30, 1920 in Winchester, the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth Geisendorfer Kilver. She was married to Victor “Vitty” Paulek at St. Aloysius Church by Msgr. Bertman on January 23, 1943. He preceded her in death in 2000. Marjorie graduated from Winchester High School in 1939 and St. John’s School of Nursing in 1942. She retired in 1982 after 30 years of service with St. John’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Marjorie belonged to a number of clubs, including Catholic Daughters of the Americas, St. John’s Alumni Association, St. John’s Retirees, AARP and St. Aloysius Women’s Club. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph V. Paulek in 1943; daughter, Judy Turner in 1990; and sister, Dorothy Rachford in 1997. She is survived by three sons, William J. (wife, Mary Beth) Paulek of Springfield, IL, Frank H. (wife, Rita) Paulek of Stonington, IL and John C. (wife, Sandra) Paulek of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (husband, James) Bieszczad, Joseph (wife, Lynda) Paulek, Andrea Paulek, Craig (wife, Katie) Paulek, Tim (wife, JoAnn) Paulek, Eric Paulek, Tracy Crews, and Joseph (wife, Michelle) Turner; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will conduct a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St., Springfield with Rev.
