

Marjorie J. Phillips, 86, of Springfield, passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at The Villas Senior Care Community. Marjorie was born September 6, 1930 in Springfield, the daughter of James A. and Margaret M. McKenzie Mohn. She married Joseph E. Phillips on November 11, 1950 in Springfield; he preceded her in death. Marjorie lived in Springfield for her entire life. She worked for Pillsbury, International Shoe Company, and Bunn-O-Matic. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and her bird, Tweetie. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Marion Mohn; two sisters, Darlene Brammer and Eleanor Mohn; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Phillips. She is survived by her son, Joseph Phillips, Jr. of Pleasant Plains; two grandchildren, Matthew (wife, Elisabeth) Phillips and Shane (wife, Tonia) Phillips; brother, Arthur "Duke" (wife, Nell) Mohn of Springfield; four great-grandchildren, Kelsie, Dalton, Nolan and Maya; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
