Mark was born in Springfield, IL on July 13, 1967, the son of Walter and Hilda (Haubner) Justison. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1985 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from Eastern Illinois University in 1989.
Mark married his beloved wife, Kathy (Swanson) Justison on July 11, 1992, and was an amazing father to their two daughters Morgan and Taylor Justison.
Mark was the owner of J&W Countertops in Springfield, a family business that was started by his father over 54 years ago. While he loved working in the family business, Mark treasured his time on the lake, at Cardinal games, and spending time in the backyard cracking dad jokes with his family and friends. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield.
In addition to his wife, Kathy, and his two daughters, Morgan (Fiancé Chandler Stafford) and Taylor, he is survived by his mother, Hilda Justison, his father Walter (Patty) Justison, his brother, Brian (Meg) Justison, his in-laws Nancy Swanson, Steve (Eileen) Swanson, Gary (Kim) Swanson, Debbie (Dick) Smith, Pam (Jay) Olson, Mark (Pam) Swanson, James Swanson, Carla (Rick) Thayer, Joan Terry, Dawn (Joel) Ortiz, Julie Swanson, Cynthia Swanson, and numerous cousins. He was Godfather to Brittany Paulson and Sadie Ortiz. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents Orphia and Louis Haubner, Katherine and Andrew Justison, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Irmgard Swanson, and brother-in-laws Tom and Jon Swanson.
The Justison family will greet family and friends on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 4-7 pm in the Parish Life Center at St. John’s Lutheran Church 2477 W. Washington, Springfield, IL. Additional Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:15 am in the parlor at St. John’s Lutheran Church Thursday, July 29, 2021. The funeral service will follow in the Sanctuary at 10:30 am Thursday with Pastors Greg Busboom and Pam Mitcham officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery, Chatham, IL. CDC and IDPH guidelines will be followed.
